Reporting to the President, the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs is the University’s chief academic officer and the first among equals on a collaborative senior administrative team. The Provost directly supervises the Executive Dean of Assessment and Academic Affairs, Dean of the College of Business, Dean of the College of Health and Natural Sciences, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, University Registrar, University Librarian, Executive Director of Institutional Research, Executive Director of Professional Programs and Partnerships, and other professional and support staff.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership qualities with a successful record of shared governance and the ability to implement change with positive outcomes. Demonstrating substantive experience in fiscal and resource management, candidates must be able to develop, execute, and assess the strategic and long-range goals of our complex academic organization. Experience in driving enrollment growth and program innovation and development is essential. As an active listener, the Provost will exhibit effective communication styles that engage all Franklin Pierce constituents and encourage collaboration and consensus building. An earned doctorate with a distinguished record of accomplishments and at least five to seven years as a senior academic leader are required. Experience with a faculty union is preferred but not required.
