Clarkson University in Potsdam NY seeks an innovative, collaborative, service-oriented leader as Associate Dean of Health Sciences. The Associate Dean will report directly to the Dean of Arts and Sciences and provides the supportive leadership necessary to advance the initiatives of Health Sciences in the pursuit of the University’s mission and vision. The Associate Dean will serve as the primary advocate for the Health Sciences Division in matters of curriculum, policy, program development, and resource allocation while establishing and strengthening relationships with community partners.
Clarkson University Health Sciences currently includes Physical Therapy (DPT), Physician Assistant (MSPAS), and Occupational Therapy (MSOT) programs. The Associate Dean is expected to be a leader in the exploration and expansion of additional health science programs in the future.
The successful candidate will have:
- an earned academic terminal degree or a terminal clinical degree within the health science field.
- experience as a university faculty member with credentials commensurate with senior faculty status (full professor rank).
- a record of progressive experience in academic administration (attaining department chair or higher level at accredited universities).
- experience as an academic unit administrator with personnel direct report responsibilities.
- evidence of significant involvement in curricular development, implementation, and assessment.
